Alaska Falls 3-1 to Victoria

Matt Siddall scored two goals, and the Victoria Salmon Kings never relinquished an early lead, as they spoiled the Alaska Aces home coming 3-1 on Wednesday night at the Sullivan Arena. The Aces fell to 11-9-1 on the year. The game opened a season-long, twelve-game home stand, following a season-long road trip. The Aces and Salmon Kings will square off in the rematch on Thursday. The teams combined for just ten shots in the first period, but the Salmon Kings scored on their first one. Matt Siddall tapped home a feed from Rob Hennigar from the top of the crease to make it 1-0 Kings. They outshot the Aces 6-4 in the frame.

Siddall struck again in the second at 3:00 when a shot deflected off his skate and into the net for a power play goal. The Aces got on the board and within one four minutes later when Ethan Cox scored from the left circle at 7:00. The Aces outshot the Kings 19-6 in the period.

The Aces could not come back in the third and Garth Murray scored at 12:14 to secure Victoria's win.

Adam Courchaine (4-2) made 16 saves on 19 shots in the loss. David Shantz (6-8-2) earned the win with 32 saves on 33 shots. The Aces power play went 0-5, while the Salmon Kings went 1-5. The Aces outshot the Salmon Kings 33-19 in the game.
