
Alana Beard And Delisha Milton-Jones Named To WNBA All-Star Team

Washington, D.C. -Washington Mystics guard Alana Beard and forward DeLisha Milton-Jones have been selected to the 2007 WNBA All-Star team. Beard will make her third consecutive appearance to the All-Star team while this will mark Milton-Jones' second appearance. Beard leads the team in scoring with 18.9 points per game while Milton-Jones leads the team in blocks with 1.28 blocks per game.
"I just want to thank the coaches that voted for me. It is a very special time for me" said Milton- Jones. "I love that I will get to play in front of our Mystics fans."
In 2000, Milton-Jones made her first All-Star appearance and scored four points to go along with four rebounds. Last season, Beard made her first all-star start and recorded six points and grabbed two rebounds.
"It is an honor to be part of the All-Star team, once again. I think it is a testament of how hard DeLisha and I have worked to be voted in by the coaches," added Beard. "I couldn't ask for anything better than to play in front of the Mystics fans, the greatest fans in the WNBA."
The All-Star reserves were selected by the WNBA coaches. The 2007 WNBA All-Star Game will be hosted by the Washington Mystics on Sunday, July 15th at Verizon Center. The game will be televised nationally on ABC at 3:30 p.m. EST.
