UNCASVILLE, Conn. (July 9, 2007) - The Connecticut Sun will be represented during the WNBA All-Star Game on July 15th at the Verizon Center as Asjha Jones and Katie Douglas have been selected as reserves on the Eastern Conference squad. Reserves are selected based on the votes of the head coaches in each respective conference.

"They deserve to be on the All-Star team," Sun coach Mike Thibault said. "They have played like All-Stars. Katie proved how good she was last year, not only in the All-Star game but in the totality of her season, and I've said all year that Asjha could be our next All-Star."

It will be the second-consecutive appearance for Douglas, who was the Most Valuable Player of the 2006 All-Star game in her first career All-Star contest. She is averaging 16.9 points per game, 4.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.2 steals this season for the Sun.

"It's always exciting to make the All-Star game," Douglas said. "I have great memories from last year and I'm looking forward to another great experience." Jones, who will be playing in her first All-Star game, is second on the team with a scoring average of 16.4 points per game. She is also averaging 6.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists on the season thus far.

"It's an honor to be considered in the same context with all of those great players," Jones said of her selection. "I have been working hard and it's nice to be recognized for my growth as a player."
