Akron RubberDucks News Release
The Aeros made a roster move today, returning IF Chris de la Cruz to Class AAA Buffalo and receiving LHP Tony Sipp from Class A Kinston.
De la Cruz appeared in two games last weekend in Reading while the Aeros were short-handed, going 1-7 with a walk and a run scored. He has appeared in 14 games with Akron, 18 games with Buffalo, and 11 contests with Kinston this year.
Sipp did not pitch last year, first straining his left (pitching) elbow in spring training and then undergoing Tommy John reconstructive surgery July 10th. He returned to the hill June 20th of this year and made three scoreless appearances for the GCL Indians before going 0-0 with a 1.13 ERA in five relief outings for Kinston. He was originally drafted in the 45th round of the 2004 draft out of Clemson University.
