Akron Aeros Encourage Fans to Join in Tornado Disaster Relief Efforts

AKRON, OH - On Friday, May 6th, Aeros fans will have the opportunity to assist in the relief efforts for the victims of recent tornados that ravaged the state of Alabama. Those attending the Akron Aeros / Trenton Thunder game at 7:05pm are encouraged to bring donations that will be loaded on a semi-trailer on Saturday morning and delivered to Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

TTR Shipping, a company based in Stow, Ohio is coordinating the efforts with the Tuscaloosa Volunteer Services, aiding those in the area who have been affected by the devastating tornados.

Tomorrow, fans are encouraged to consider donating the following items:

. Bottled water

. Clothing - new and gently used

. Shoes

. Toiletries

. Cleaning supplies

. Non-perishable food items

. Dog & cat food

. Towels

. Bedding

. Toys - new or gently used

. URGENT NEEDS include:

o Diapers

o Baby wipes

o Baby formula

o Adult diapers
