Trenton Thunder News Release
(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder (13-14) came from behind to beat the Portland Sea Dogs (9-15) 8-7 in eleven innings. Dan Brewer walked with one out and the bases loaded to bring the winning run home after Cody Johnson's sacrifice fly tied the game at seven in the bottom of the ninth.
Thunder pitchers would walk a season-high nine batters throughout the ballgame, and, consequently, Portland would take a 7-5 lead with them to the bottom of the ninth inning. Austin Krum doubled to left to lead the inning off, and Corban Joseph singled to right to score Krum one batter later. With Joseph on third two batters later, Cody Johnson lined a ball to deep center to score Joseph on the sacrifice fly, tying the score at 7-7.
It was the bottom of the eleventh when the Thunder finally took their first lead of the ballgame. With the bases loaded, Dan Brewer drew a one out walk from Sea Dog reliever Kyle Fernandes to bring home Krum from third and give the Thunder an 8-7 walk-off win.
