Grand Prairie, TX (6.03.08) - Kieran Mattison pitched seven scoreless innings for Grand Prairie, as they earned their first shutout of the season, 4-0, on Wednesday night.

Mattison (3-1) was unhittable for most of the evening. He threw seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits with five strikeouts and one walk. Vinnie DeChristofaro threw two shutout innings and allowed no runs and three strikeouts to earn his second save of the season.

Billy Munoz put the AirHogs on the scoreboard in bottom of the second. With two away, Munoz crushed a home run off the batter's eye in dead center field to give Grand Prairie the 1-0 lead.

Grand Prairie capitalized on some Diablo's errors in the bottom of the fifth to take the 2-0 advantage. After reaching on a single, Aaron Garza stole second and advanced to third on an errant throw by catcher Matt Kent. He was plated on fielding error at third base hit by David Espinosa.

In the bottom of the eighth, the AirHogs loaded the bases with their first three batters. With the infield in, Billy Munoz came up with his second RBI on a grounder through the right side, bringing in Drew Holder for the 3-0 lead. With the bases still loaded, Brandon Carter grounded to the second baseman with one out. Conley tagged Munoz for the second out but didn't try to turn two, allowing Espinosa to score the AirHogs fourth run.

Munoz finished the night for Grand Prairie 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBIs, and one run.

Adam Blackley (1-3) earned the loss for El Paso. He threw seven innings and allowed three runs, on six hits with nine strikeouts and two walks.

The AirHogs will continue their home stand tomorrow against El Paso. AirHogs righty Zac Stott (2-1, 3.43 ERA) will take on Diablo David Whigham (2-2, 6.10 ERA) with a 7:05 PM first pitch.
