
AirHogs Fall Again in Cleburne Despite Stellar Bullpen

06/04/2017 12:31 AM - CLEBURNE, Texas -- The Texas AirHogs dropped their second contest in Cleburne Saturday, narrowly falling to the Cleburne Railroaders 2-1. TJ Bozeman and Josh Blanco combined to throw 4 innings in relief without allowing a baserunner. The AirHogs will look to salvage a game tomorrow at The Depot.
Michael Freeman got his 1st professional start for the AirHogs. The lefty went 4 innings, scattering 8 hits and allowing 2 runs. Levi Scott and Ryan Wagner each singled in the 2nd to help build a 1-0 lead. Cleburne struck back in the 3rd for a run on a squeeze bunt by Mitch Glasser and added another in the 4th to take a 2-1 lead. Freeman stranded the bases loaded before exiting the game following the 4th.
Bozeman set down 9 in a row from the 5th through the 7th, striking out 4 in a perfect performance. Blanco added another 1-2-3 inning in the 8th. Levi Scott drew a walk in the 9th vs. Cleburne closer Winston Abreu and Ryan Wagner singled to make it 2 aboard with a chance to tie or take the lead. Scott advanced to 3rd on a flyout to right but the AirHogs were unable to bring him in.
Cleburne starter Brandon Quintero allowed 1 run while pitching in the 4th before exiting the game due to injury. The Railroader bullpen held the AirHogs hitless from the 4th through the 8th. Onas Farfan picked up his 2nd win of the season while Abreu earned his 3rd save. The loss was the 1st of the season for Freeman.
The teams close the series tomorrow. LHP James Russell is expected to start for the AirHogs vs. RHP Patrick Mincey for the Railroaders. 1st pitch is slated for 6:05 pm. A live stream will be available at mixlr.com/TXAirHogs.
