Texas AirHogs News Release

KANSAS CITY, Kansas - The AirHogs fell for the 2nd night in a row to the T-Bones in Kansas City Friday evening. The home team used a 3-run bottom of the sixth inning to run away with an 8-3 win.

Michael Hur and Michael Miller each went deep for the AirHogs. Hur got the squad off to a great start when he hammered T-Bones starter Sean Furney's 2nd pitch into the left center field bullpen to establish 1-0 lead.

Griffin Russell got the ball to start for the AirHogs and surrendered 3 hits and a run in the 1st, allowing the T-Bones to tie the game. They would add another 2 runs on an error and a sacrifice fly to get out to a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the 2nd.

The AirHogs would halve the lead in the 3rd after back-to-back base hits to lead off the inning by Hur and Juan Sanchez. An error by T-Bones 3B Sergio Leon off the bat of Austin Gallagher would allow Hur to score.

A 2-run HR by Cole Leonida off Russell in the 3rd inflated the T-Bone lead up to 3. Michael Miller would respond for the AirHogs with a solo blast to lead off the 4th, but the AirHogs would shave the deficit to no less than 2. In the 6th, Jake Blackwood and Anthony Gallas blasted back-to-back homers off AirHog relief man Sam Martin to give the team their final advantage of 8-3.

Hur reached base 3 times for the AirHogs in the game, and SS Juan Sanchez stayed hot by reaching 3 times with 2 hits himself. Brian Bistagne also continued to impress, going 3 for 4 with 2 doubles.

The T-Bones were led by the home run combo of Leonida, Blackwood and Gallas. The 3 would combine to knock in 7 of the 8 runs and help the squad improve to 2-0 on the season.

Russell took the loss, while Furney got the win. The two teams meet again tomorrow at 7:05. Lefty Ethan Carnes is expected to get the start for the AirHogs. A live broadcast will be available through airhogsbaseball.com.

The team opens its regular season home schedule in Grand Prairie May 23rd vs. Fargo.
