
AHL Names Siville Manager Of Communications

PRINCETON, N.J. - The American Hockey League announced Friday that it has
hired Joe Siville as manager of communications.
Siville will manage the league's corporate communications efforts, as well
as assist AHL vice president of communications Jason Chaimovitch in the
day-to-day media relations and internet services of the league.
He joins AHL manager of hockey operations Bill Scott, who joined the AHL in
August after three seasons in the ECHL hockey operations department, and
vice president of hockey operations Jim Mill, who spent two seasons as
assistant director of hockey operations for the ECHL and was an assistant
coach and director of player relations for Tallahassee after playing in the
ECHL with Raleigh, Huntington, Roanoke and Tallahassee.
During his tenure with the ECHL, Siville was responsible for the layout and
design of the ECHL Official Guide and Record Book and the ECHL Schedule
Book while creating all graphic elements on the official league web site
ECHL.com. He assisted in the creation and distribution of league press
releases as well as ECHL This Week and ECHL Today. Prior to the ECHL he
worked at Comcast-Spectacor in Philadelphia where he was a production
assistant in the creative solutions department. He was responsible for the
printing and layout of various designs for Comcast-Spectacor and its
companies, including media notes for both the Philadelphia Flyers of the
National Hockey League and the Philadelphia Phantoms of the AHL. He worked
as an intern for the St. Louis Blues and later as a marketing/community
relations assistant. He was awarded his bachelor's degree in journalism and
history from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
The ECHL has affiliations with 24 of the 27 teams in the AHL and the ECHL
had 416 call ups to the AHL, involving 263 players, in 2005-06. The ECHL
has had more players called up to the AHL than all other professional
leagues combined each of the past four seasons with 1,646 call ups
involving almost 1,000 players and for the past 17 years there has been an
ECHL player on the Calder Cup Champion.
