PRINCETON, N.J. - The American Hockey League announced Friday that it has hired Joe Siville as manager of communications.

Siville will manage the league's corporate communications efforts, as well as assist AHL vice president of communications Jason Chaimovitch in the day-to-day media relations and internet services of the league.

He joins AHL manager of hockey operations Bill Scott, who joined the AHL in August after three seasons in the ECHL hockey operations department, and vice president of hockey operations Jim Mill, who spent two seasons as assistant director of hockey operations for the ECHL and was an assistant coach and director of player relations for Tallahassee after playing in the ECHL with Raleigh, Huntington, Roanoke and Tallahassee.

During his tenure with the ECHL, Siville was responsible for the layout and design of the ECHL Official Guide and Record Book and the ECHL Schedule Book while creating all graphic elements on the official league web site ECHL.com. He assisted in the creation and distribution of league press releases as well as ECHL This Week and ECHL Today. Prior to the ECHL he worked at Comcast-Spectacor in Philadelphia where he was a production assistant in the creative solutions department. He was responsible for the printing and layout of various designs for Comcast-Spectacor and its companies, including media notes for both the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League and the Philadelphia Phantoms of the AHL. The ECHL has affiliations with 24 of the 27 teams in the AHL and the ECHL had 416 call ups to the AHL, involving 263 players, in 2005-06.
