Idaho Steelheads News Release

Boise, ID (10/1/13) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced Tuesday that the American Hockey League's Texas Stars have assigned goaltenders Josh Robinson and Pat Nagle to the Idaho Steelheads.

Texas (AHL) and Idaho (ECHL) are the primary development affiliates of the NHL's Dallas Stars. The AHL is the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America.

Robinson was selected as the Steelheads' team MVP last season after ranking among the ECHL leaders in wins (27, 2nd), save percentage (.925, 2nd), shutouts (5, 2nd), total saves (1245, 4th) and total minutes played (2362, 6th). His five shutouts already place him second all-time among Steelheads goaltenders in the ECHL era (Steve Silverthorn, 10).

Ralph on Robinson: "Josh really improved over the summer and made tremendous strides to help his cause at the next level. He's a great teammate who leads by example and to have a goalie of his caliber back is critical to our success."

Nagle, 26, has spent the past two seasons under contract with the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning. He made 70 appearances over the past two seasons with the ECHL's Florida Everblades, posting an overall record of 34-23-6. He was a part of Florida's Kelly Cup championship team in 2012, leading the entire ECHL in goals-against average (1.42) and shutouts (2) and tied for the best save percentage (.941) among all playoff goaltenders that season.

Ralph on Nagle: "Pat is a bigger goalie who plays a sound positional game. I think being in a new organization should inspire him to show that he can play at the next level. He'll push Josh for that number one spot and make a great tandem for us."

Robinson and Nagle combined on a 30-save shutout for Texas in its final pre-season game on Sunday against the San Antonio Rampage.

The Steelheads open training camp on October 6 and will host its annual "Season Ticket Holder Only" pre-season game on October 12 at CenturyLink Arena. The regular season opens on October 18 with a game at Utah and the team will play its first home game on Wednesday, October 23, against the San Francisco Bulls.

The 17th season of professional hockey gets underway at CenturyLink Arena on October 23 when the Idaho Steelheads host the San Francisco Bulls. Season Ticket packages are available now, starting at just $275 per seat for all 36 home games. Partial-season packages are available as well for fans who want a little more flexibility.
