Affiliate Dylan Malmquist Commits to Notre Dame

MUSKEGON, Michigan (September 20th) - For the second time this week, a player associated with the Muskegon Lumberjacks organization has made his college choice as affiliate Dylan Malmquist has committed to the University of Notre Dame out of the Hockey East Association following his junior hockey career.

Malmquist, the Edina, Minnesota product, was the Lumberjacks' first round pick (10th overall) in the 2012 USHL Futures Draft and will be entering his junior year at Edina (Minnesota) High School. During his first two seasons with the Hornets, Malmquist has accumulated 90 points (46 goals and 44 assists) in 57 games played.

This past summer, Malmquist also played for Team USA in the 2013 Ivan Klinka Memorial Tournament held from August 5-10th in BÃ...™eclav, Czech Republic and PieÃ...¡t'any, Slovakia earning the silver medal. During the USA Select 17 National Development Camp that took place before the tournament from June 27-July 3 in Williamsville, New York, Malmquist was the top scorer with 11 points and shared the goal-scoring lead with six.

The Lumberjacks will begin their 2013-14 regular season campaign tomorrow in Green Bay against the Gamblers at 8:05 pm. Next weekend, Muskegon will travel to Ann Arbor on Friday, September 27th to take on the USNTDP Under-17 Team at 7:00 pm. The Lumberjacks' Home Opener will be the next night on Saturday, September 28th against the Indiana Ice at 7:15 pm.

Season ticket packages for the 2013-14 season are still on sale for the low price of $225 for adults and $150 for children ages 3-12 for the 30 home games provided next season along with individual tickets.
