RECENTLY...The Aeros took two of three from Bowie over the weekend. Tonight, the Aeros start a brief three game road trip in Harrisburg against the Senators.
YESTERDAY...Bowie RHP BEAU HALE shut down the Aeros, as Bowie took the final game of the series, 3-0. The Aeros managed only four hits, two of them by CF TREVOR CROWE.
TODAY...RHP DAN DENHAM takes the mound in search of win number seven (6-2, 4.80 ERA).
STARTING OUT GREAT...After 29 games with the Aeros, OF BRIAN BARTON is batting .359 (37-103, 5 HR, 15 RBI and 12 SB)...OF TREVOR CROWE has a hit in 18 of his first 23 games with Akron, and is batting .286 (26-91, 13 R, 6 2B and 13 SB).
MORE ON MILLER...RHP ADAM MILLER has won six of his last eight games pitched with an ERA of 0.87, (51.2 IP, 36 H, 7 R, 5 ER, 15 BB, 55 SO) over that stretch...Adam is also among league leaders in several categories as he leads in wins (13), is third in strikeouts (142), and has the fourth lowest earned-run avg. (2.88).
HIGH HONORS...RHP ADAM MILLER was named the Eastern League Player of the Month for the Month of July. He compiled a perfect 4-0 record to go along with 30 strikeouts, nine walks, a 0.29 ERA and a .232 opponent's batting average in 30.2 innings of work.
JULY'S BEST BATS... OF RYAN GOLESKI was among the league's best, batting .308 (32-104, 18 R, 11 2B, 5 HR, 25 RBI, 1 SB) with a slugging percentage of .558...OF BRIAN BARTON had at least one hit in 11 of the 12 games he played in the month, batting .488 (20-41) ...He also showed power and speed, with five home runs and eight stolen bases over his first 12 games with Akron.
