Aeros \'Pen Folds Late In Reading

READING, PA - Bryan Price allowed five runs over the sixth and seventh innings as the Akron Aeros dropped game two of a four-game series to the Reading Phillies 9-5 Friday at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Price suffered his first loss of the season for the Aeros lasting two innings, giving up five earned runs on six hits, striking out two and walking none.

Reading righty Michael Cisco picked up the win pitching four scoreless innings of relief.

The R-Phils (6-3) got on the board in the bottom of the first inning when Matt Rizzotti hit an RBI double off Aeros starter Austin Adams to make it 1-0.

Adams allowed three more runs in the bottom of the second inning to give Reading a 4-0 lead.

Adams got a no decision lasting five innings, allowing four earned runs on seven hits, walking three and striking out four.

The Aeros (5-4) erupted in the top of the third inning. Jordan Henry started the frame with a lead off single and quickly stole second. Chun Chen drove him in with an RBI single. Matt McBride followed with a double advancing Chen to third base. Chen scored on a Kyle Bellows RBI ground out. John Drennen, then, doubled to score McBride. Tim Fedroff continued the scoring with a two-run home run to right field to give the Aeros a 5-4 lead.

The R-Phils tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning as Derrick Mitchell singled off Price to score Steve Susdroff. In the sixth, Price allowed a Rizzoti solo home run and a Carlos Rivero three-run home run as Reading took game two of this four-game series.

The Aeros will look to get back to their winning ways Saturday against the R-Phils. Left-handed pitcher Matt Packer gets the start for Akron. He will be opposite right-hander J.C. Ramirez.
