Norfolk Admirals News Release
Garage Sale: This weekend, the Admirals are selling used hockey equipment, plus a few new items. Up for sale are helmets, gloves, sticks, blades, training camp jerseys, hockey pants, and more! The âgarage sale' will take place by the Admirals' locker room at Scope on Friday, August 29 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday, August 30 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. See Equipment Manager Scott Boggs at Scope for more information.
IN THE COMMUNITY
Hockey Demonstration: Thursday, August 28 at Quality Time Child Care in Smithfield. In conjunction with their Summer Sports Program, Admirals staff members Millie Lomax and Ryan Williams will appear at the center to discuss hockey and demonstrate how the game is played, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Portsmouth City Schools Report Day: Thursday, August 28. Mascot Salty will lead the rally to kick off the school year, and the Admirals will have a display table for the more than 2,000 teachers to receive Admirals information.
Rock ân Roll Half Marathon: Sunday, August 31 in Virginia Beach. The Admirals will once again be supporting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by manning a water station for this race.
MDA Labor Day Telethon: Monday, September 1. Hat Trick and Millie Lomax will be on hand as the Admirals present a donation check from their MDA jersey auction this past season. The auction raised over $30,000 for the MDA.
Day of Caring: Thursday, September 4. Admirals staffers will spend the day cleaning the freezer and delivering food for the Foodbank of Hampton Roads. As part of the United Way of South Hampton Roads' Day of Caring, mascot Hat Trick will also make an appearance at the volunteer picnic.
