Admirals Sign Goaltender Jeff Sanger

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Today, the Norfolk Admirals announced that the club has signed goaltender Jeff Sanger to an American Hockey League standard player's contract. In keeping with club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Last season, Sanger made his pro debut with the Reading Royals of the ECHL. The Madison, Wisc. native registered a 3.63 goals against average with the Royals, along with a 20-12-4 record, .895 save percentage and one shutout in 40 appearances.

In a four-year career at Colorado College (WCHA), Sanger posted a 76-45-3 record, 2.48 goals against average, and a .906 save percentage in 127 outings. He holds the Colorado College career records in wins, GAA and shutouts (16) as well as the school record for shutouts in one season (seven, 2001-02).

The Blue and Gold's first game of the 2003-04 campaign is at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (Pittsburgh) on Wednesday, October 8 at 7:05 p.m. Norfolk's first home contest of the year is set for Friday, October 17 at 7:30 p.m. Eastern against the Albany River Rats (New Jersey Devils).
