
Griffins Announce Preseason Schedule

Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Wednesday announced their 2003-04 preseason schedule.
After opening their eighth training camp on Sunday, Sept. 28, the Griffins will play a pair of preseason games on the road the following week. On Thursday, Oct. 2, they'll face the Chicago Wolves in an 8 p.m. EDT start at the West Meadows Ice Arena in Rolling Meadows, Ill. They'll complete their short tune-up slate on Friday, Oct. 3 versus the Milwaukee Admirals, in an 8:30 p.m. EDT faceoff at the Wilson Park Ice Arena in Milwaukee. Tickets for both games will be available at the door on game night, for a cost of $5 (Chicago) and $8 (Milwaukee).
The Griffins will open the 2003-04 AHL regular season on Saturday, Oct. 11, when they visit the Chicago Wolves at 8 p.m. EDT. Grand Rapids' home opener versus the defending Calder Cup champion Houston Aeros is set for Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
Griffins full-season, mini-season and group ticket packages are currently on sale through the team's office at (800) 2-HOCKEY. Single-game tickets will go on sale later this month.
The NHL's future stars will descend on Grand Rapids this winter for the 2004 Pepsi AHL All-Star Classic. The two-day event at Van Andel Arena will consist of the AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Sunday, Feb. 8, followed by the AHL All-Star Game on Monday, Feb. 9.
