Milwaukee Admirals News Release

NOTHIN' BUT THE BEST...All four Admiral games this week will be against division-leading teams. After their tilt with the Central Division-leading Griffins Wednesday, Milwaukee faces the top team in the entire league and Canadian Division leaders, the Hamilton Bulldogs, Friday and Saturday in Hamilton before returning home to take on the West Division leading Houston Aeros.

VS. GRIFFINS...Wednesday night, the Admirals take a four games unbeaten streak into their game against the Grand Rapids Griffins at the Bradley Center. It's the fifth meeting of the year and second straight in Milwaukee between the two teams. In the three games at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, the Admirals were 1-1-1-0 before skating to a 3-3 tie last Saturday at the Bradley Center. Milwaukee snapped a seven game winless streak at Grand Rapids with a 6-1 win 12/28. Milwaukee is 17-23-6-2 all-time against the Griffins.

VS. BULLDOGS...Friday and Saturday night the Admirals play the Hamilton Bulldogs for the first time in franchise history. Both games will be played in Hamilton. The Bulldogs return the visit with two games at the Bradley Center in February. This season, the Bulldogs are serving as the top developmental affiliate of both the Edmonton Oilers and Montreal Canadiens. They begin the week with a league-best 29-6-3-2 (63pts) record and are 13-0-2-0 in their last 15 games.

VS. AEROS...Sunday afternoon the Admirals play their third game in as many nights with a battle slated against division rival Houston at the Bradley Center. The Admirals will try to break an eight game home losing streak to the Aeros that dates back to November 25, 2000. Houston earned a 3-1 win at the Bradley Center December 27th. Prior to the recent Aeros hot streak at the Bradley Center, Milwaukee was 11-0-0-1 against Houston in Milwaukee. This season, the Admirals have outscored Houston 7-1 in two road victories. Milwaukee shutout Houston at the Compaq Center 5-0 on November 15th and scored a 2-1 win over the Aeros in St. Paul. Minnesota on December 8th. All-time vs. Houston, Milwaukee is 22-16-0-5 with a home mark of 11-8-0-1.

ROSTER REVISIONS...The Nashville Predators recalled goaltender Jan Lasak and forwards Wyatt Smith and Reid Simpson Sunday. They also reassigned goaltender Brian Finley to Milwaukee. Last week, the Predators traded Admirals' left wing Nathan Perrott to the Toronto Maple Leafs for center Bob Wren. The former St. John's Maple Leaf skated in two games last week for Milwaukee and earned an assist in Saturday's game against the Griffins.

ALL-STAR HONOR FOR HAYDAR...Rookie Darren Haydar was named to the AHL Canadian All-Star Team for the AHL All-Star Classic February 3rd in Portland, Maine. Haydar is the team's leading scorer with 39 points (15g-24a) in 31 games played. He also leads the team in multiple-point games with 11 and +/- with a +18. The former University of New Hampshire star is second among AHL rookies in scoring and is sixth among all scorers in the league. Haydar, who has scored at least one point in 23/31 games, was named the AHL's October Rookie of the Month.

TEAM STREAK...The Admirals have a four-game unbeaten streak as they begin play this week. They are 5-2-1-0 in the last eight games. Saturday's tie with Grand Rapids snapped a season-high three game winning streak for Milwaukee.

DUELING IN THE DIVISION...Through 21 games against West Division foes, Milwaukee is 12-7-1-1 and own winning records against all four divisional opponents. The overall breakdown includes a perfect mark against Utah (2-0-0-0) and winning records against Houston (2-1-0-0), San Antonio (3-2-0-0) and Chicago (5-4-0-1).
