Patrick DesRochers made 44 saves in his Lowell debut, helping the Lock Monsters to a 4-1 win in Hartford on Friday night. Acquired from the Phoenix organization on New Year's Eve, DesRochers made 20 stops in the third period alone as Lowell won at the Hartford Civic Center for the second time in a week. Jeff Daw scored twice and added an assist for the Lock Monsters, who are 7-0-3-0 in their last 10 games against the Wolf Pack.

Matt Lombardi and Chuck Kobasew each scored twice as Saint John defeated Worcester on Friday, 4-2, in Ron Wilson's debut as the Flames' head coach. Wilson took over for Jim Playfair, who was named assistant coach in Calgary earlier in the day. Jason Morgan, Robert Dome and Ladislav Kohn recorded two assists apiece, and Dany Sabourin turned aside 27 shots.

Tomas Surovy scored his eighth, ninth and 10th goals of the season to lead Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to a 6-3 win over visiting Albany on Saturday night. Surovy added an assist for a four-point night, and Tom Kostopoulos matched him with a goal and three assists of his own. Surovy's second career hat trick was the first ever by a Penguin at the First Union Arena. Former Wilkes-Barre forward Greg Crozier had a goal and an assist for the River Rats.

Second-year pro Andy Hilbert reached the 20-goal plateau with a pair of markers, helping Providence extend its unbeaten streak to 11 games (10-0-1-0) with a 5-3 win in Lowell on Sunday. Fellow 2003 AHL All-Star selection Matt Herr netted his 17th goal of the year and added an assist, and Tim Thomas stopped 33 shots in net for the Bruins. Kris Vernarsky and Jarno Kultanen also scored for Providence, which hasn't lost since a 5-1 setback in Manchester on Dec. 7.
