Cincinnati RailRaiders News Release

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Cincinnati Mighty Ducks fans are about to be rolled up in one of the stickiest nights in professional hockey history, as the Mighty Ducks host their first Salute to Duck Tape Night on Saturday, January 11 when they face the Rochester Americans at 7:35 p.m. at the Cincinnati Gardens.

Known as American's favorite tool, duct tape was created during World War II for American Soldiers, and was referred to by soldiers as duct tape because of its water-resistant quality. Henkel Consumer Adhesives, Inc., master of Duck brand Duct Tape, has creatively combined ice hockey and duct tape into one extremely entertaining and sticky night that is sure to amuse Mighty Ducks of all ages.

Fans are encouraged to dress up in duct tape clothing and accessories for the game and will be able to compete for a variety of prizes throughout the night. The best duct tape outfitted fans will be selected to compete in the Duck Tape Fashion Show. A grand prize will be awarded to the most impressively dressed fan, with runners up prizes for other creatively designed ensembles.

With more than 16 colors and patterns of Duck Tape available, including fluorescent X-Factor colors and Camouflage Duck Tape, it's easy to creatively design Duck Tape duds. Previous Fashion Show contestants' attire have included duct tape tuxedos and gowns, as well as full costumes of the Statue of Liberty, a wedding party, and a knight in shining armor.

In addition to seeing the latest in stuck-on-you fashions, there will be several additional contests taking place throughout the night, with winners receiving Duck brand prize packages. World-famous duct tape sculptor Todd Scott will lead the event, and demonstrate his amazing creative talents. Some of Mr. Scott's sculpters will be on display, and he will be giving instructions on how to make a variety of crafts out of duct tape. A drawing will be held during the game, and one lucky fan will win Mr. Scott's original Duck Tape sculpture of Buster, the Mighty Ducks popular mascot.

To help cheer on the fashion show contestants and the Mighty Ducks, the first 2,500 fans will receive an original Duckbill noisemaker. In addition, ushers upon entering the Cincinnati Gardens will hand out 2,500 rolls of Duck Tape.
