
Hot Checkers Take Three of Four Last Week

TUESDAY'S PREVIEW: The Checkers will meet the Trenton Titans for the third time this season and the first time at Cricket Arena. Charlotte is 1-1-0 versus the Titans so far in the six-game season series, with each team playing three times at home. Center Adam Edinger leads Trenton in scoring with 18g, 15a, for 33 pts. The Titans start the week tied for fourth place in the ECHL's Northeast Division of the Northern Conference with a 16-13-7 record for 39 points. All-time the Checkers are 8-10-2 versus the Titans.
THURDAY'S PREVIEW: The Checkers begin a three-game in three-night schedule Thursday at Greensboro for their sixth game in the eight-game season series. The Checkers are 2-3-0 against the Generals so far this season. Greensboro enters the week three points out of the top spot in the Northeast Division with 50 points and a 23-9-4. Sam Ftorek leads the Generals in scoring with 20g, 10a for 32 points. Goalies Jamie Hodson and Daniel Berthiaume anchor the nets for Greensboro. All-time the Checkers are 24-6-3 versus Greensboro.
FRIDAY'S PREVIEW: The Checkers close out the week with a pair of home games, beginning Friday when the Augusta Lynx pay their first visit of the season to Cricket Arena. Charlotte has played twice in Augusta this season and come away with two victories. This season the Checkers and Augusta play a four-game season series. The Lynx changed coaches in November and former player David Wilkie is now behind the bench. Augusta starts this week in last place in the ECHL's Southeast Division with a record of 11-21-2 for 24 points. All-time the Checkers are 34-25-6 against the Augusta / Raleigh franchise.
SATURDAY'S PREVIEW: Charlotte will close out the brief two-game homestand with a match with the Express. The Checkers are 2-1-1 against the Express so far in the eight-game season series. Saturday's game will be only the second home game against the Express so far this season. Roanoke begins the week in third place in the Northeast Division at 21-14-4 for 44 points. Charlotte is 29-29-9 all time versus Roanoke.

⢠The Checkers are 2-0 in shootouts, and were the last team in the ECHL to play in a
shootout. (First one in their 31st game on 1/3/03)
⢠The Checkers, along with Cincinnati and Toledo, have played the fewest games in the
ECHL so far this season at 33.
⢠ALLAN EGELAND scored three goals and five assists for 13 points in Charlotte's four
games last week, and is now second on the club in scoring. Egeland also scored the
decisive goal in both of the Checkers shootout wins last week.
⢠DAVE INMAN has scored in nine of the 11 games he has played in for the Checkers
going 8-5-13 in that span.
⢠The Checkers are 9-3-1 in their last 13 games.
⢠Goalie Scott Meyer has won his last four games (three starts).
⢠The Checkers are in the midst of playing 11 games in 17 days and seven games in
nine days.
