Admirals Host League's Best this Weekend

VS. BULLDOGS...The Hamilton Bulldogs make their first appearance ever at the Bradley Center this weekend when they take on the Admirals in games Friday and Saturday nights. Hamilton will enter the game with the best record in the American Hockey League (42-9-5-4) and are 7-1-1-1 in their last ten games. Milwaukee snapped the Bulldogs 18-game unbeaten streak with a 6-5 overtime win on January 11th at the Copps Coliseum. The Bulldogs won the previous night behind a 2-0 shutout performance by goaltender Mathieu Garon. Former Bulldogs coach Claude Julien was named head coach of the Montreal Canadiens January 17th.

BUBBA TRADED...Monday afternoon defenseman Bubba Berenzweig was traded by the Nashville Predators. Tuesday night he was playing for the Grizzlies against his old team. The former Admirals' team captain was dealt to the Dallas Stars along with a conditional 2004 draft pick for Utah forward Jon Sim. Berenzweig was assigned to the Grizzlies. Sim will play for the Predators.

ROSTER REVISIONS...Goaltender Jan Lasak was recalled by the Nashville Predators Wednesday after playing in goal in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Utah Grizzlies. Defenseman Tomas Kloucek and forward Denny Lambert returned to the line-up Tuesday after missing three games due to injury.

A FEBRUARY FIRST...A Milwaukee's 7-4 win Tuesday over Utah was their first win in their last ten games and their first win in February. The seven goal total is also the highest goal output by the Admirals this season.

WORKING OVERTIME... The Admirals' have played to a draw in four of their last seven games including three straight from February 7-9. The 2-2 tie with the IceCats on Saturday was their 11th tie of the season, which is one more than last year's total of 10 ties. Admirals played in their 18th overtime session of the year Saturday night and are 3-4-11 with OT winners coming from Cameron Mann (10/26 vs. CHI), Peter Smrek (11/30 @ CLE) and Jason Beckett (1/11 @ HAM).

THE MANN SHOW...With 15 points in his last eight games, Cameron Mann is now second on the team in scoring with 45 points and with 19 goals. The former Providence Bruin and Utah Grizzlie notched two straight four-point games February 7th and 8th. He scored his first professional hat trick and earned an assist February 8th and recorded three assists and a goal February 7th against Cincinnati. Due to injuries and call-ups, Mann has been able to accumulate the 45 points in only 38 of the Admirals' 53 games. Mann is also second on the team in multiple point games with 12.

DARREN TO BE GREAT...Rookie Darren Haydar scored two goals and an assist for the AHL Canadian All-Stars February 3rd as the Canadians beat PlanetUSA 10-7 in Portland, Maine. Haydar is the Admirals' leading scorer with 58 points (21g-37a) in 49 games played. Prior to picking up four assists Tuesday night in a 7-4 win over Utah, he had been held scoreless in a season high four straight games. The former University of New Hampshire star became the Admirals' first ever AHL 20-goal scorer with a goal 1/31 vs. Grand Rapids. He leads the team in goals scored (21), multiple-point games (17), and +/- (+21). Haydar is first in scoring among AHL rookies and is fourth among all league scorers. With his two points 1/22, he surpassed last year's leading scorer, Petr Sachl, who scored 43 points for the Admirals over the entire season. Haydar, who has scored at least one point in 33/49 games, was named the AHL's October Rookie of the Month.

DUELING IN THE DIVISION...Through 29 games against West Division foes, Milwaukee is 16-9-2-2 and owns winning records against all four divisional opponents. The overall breakdown: vs. Utah (4-1-0-0), Houston (3-2-1-1), San Antonio (4-2-1-0) and Chicago (5-4-0-1).

IRONMAN...Bryan Lundbohm is the only player to have played in all 54 Admirals' games this season. Lundbohm has played in 79 straight games dating back to last season. He played in 79/80 games last season, giving him 133 appearances as an Admiral in a season and a half. The former North Dakota Fighting Sioux star has scored a goal in the last two games and has scored a point in five of the last six contests.

NUMBERS GAME...Defenseman Dan Hamhuis has split his 15 points in an unusual manner. All three of his goals have been scored at home and all 12 assists have been earned on the road.

COUNTRY MUSIC/HOCKEY DOUBLEHEADER...Country music star Phil Vassar will be in concert at the Bradley Center Saturday night for this year's FM-106 Country Music night. Vassar was named last year's New Male Vocalist of the Year at the 37th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. Vassar's hits include "Carlene", "That's When I Love You" and his current smash hit "American Child".
