
Canucks recall Baumgartner

The Vancouver Canucks announced that they have recalled defenceman Nolan Baumgartner (BAWM-gahrt-nuhr) from the Manitoba Moose.
Baumgartner, 26, started the 2002-03 season with Manitoba and has played the majority of the season with the Moose. He had played in 49 AHL matches while recording seven goals (four on the power play) and 22 assists for 29 points and 76 penalty minutes. The 6'1" defenceman is fourth in team scoring and second among Moose defencemen. He set a career-high seven game point streak from Jan. 21-31 and established his pro-high goal streak at three games (Feb. 8-13).
Baumgartner has played in five NHL games this season with Vancouver and tallied one assist with two penalty minutes and two shots.
Last season, he played in 76 games for the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL, recording ten goals, 24 assists for 34 points and 72 penalty minutes. The Calgary, AB native signed as a free agent with the Canucks on July 11/02.
This is Baumgartner's second stint with the Canucks this season. He was originally recalled to Vancouver on October 14/02.
