
Phantoms' Niittymaki to meet fellow Finnish goaltender

DETAILS: Philadelphia Phantoms goaltender Antero Niittymaki (from Turku, Finland) will be visiting Radnor High School's hockey practice on Monday afternoon to meet their junior goaltender Joni Ek, who hails from Vaantaa, Finland. Niittymaki will speak with Ek and the rest of the Red Raiders, as well as provide Ek some goaltending pointers.
A 1998 NHL Draft pick of the Flyers, Niittymaki, 22, is in his first season with the Phantoms after playing professionally for TPS Turku in Finland the last three years.
Ek, 17, is a foreign-exchange student who is 13-1 as the starting goaltender for the defending Flyers Cup Class A champion Radnor Red Raiders.
