Admirals Gearing Up for Inaugural Alumni Game

NORFOLK, VA - The Admirals have finalized the rosters for the upcoming Inaugural Admirals Alumni Game, which will take place on Saturday, February 10 at Scope.

This season's Alumni Night will feature Hampton Roads Admirals stars from the early to mid 1990's. The night will consist of an alumni game and meet-and-greet session. Team Blue will take on Team White a few hours before the current Norfolk Admirals face off against the Portland Pirates. The alumni will don the original Hampton Roads Admirals blue and gold jerseys consisting of an anchor surrounded by five stars.

Twenty-three players will take part in the alumni game: forwards Brendan Curley, Victor Gervais, Paul Krepelka, Dominic Maltais, Dennis McEwen, Dave Morissette, Billy Nolan, Randy Pearce, Kelly Sorensen, Rod Taylor and Shawn Wheeler; defensemen Chad Ackerman, Greg Bignell, David Buckley, John East, Glenn Kehrer, Jason MacIntyre, Al MacIsaac and Ron Pascucci; and goaltenders Mark Bernard, Dave Cooper and Nick Vitucci. In addition, the Jack Riley Cup (won by the Hampton Roads Admirals in 1991 and 1992) and the Patrick J. Kelly Cup (won by the Hampton Roads Admirals in 1998) will be on display during and after the game.

Following the game, the alumni will have a meet-and-greet session with fans complete with photos, autographs and more.

"We have a tremendous history of hockey here in Hampton Roads," said Admirals Vice President and former Hampton Roads Admirals goaltender Mark Bernard. "It's time that we start getting the alumni back involved. It's going to be a great night, and I think that our fans are really going to enjoy it."

The Admirals Alumni Night experience is included in a ticket to the Admirals game versus the Portland Pirates later that evening. Gates will open at 4:00 with the puck dropping for the alumni game at 4:30. The game will last approximately one hour. Following the game, there will be a meet-and-greet reception in the Scope Exhibition Hall until 6:45. At 7:15, the puck will drop for the Norfolk Admirals' contest against the Portland Pirates.

"I'm looking forward to seeing players that were instrumental in building the foundation of success that we have had for the last seventeen years in Norfolk," said Admirals General Manager and former Hampton Roads Admirals defenseman, assistant coach and assistant general manager Al MacIsaac. "It's a great opportunity for fans to say 'hi' to some of the players they cheered for and supported many years ago."
