ALBANY, NY - Five finalists will compete for the title of River Rats Idol at the Albany River Rats game Friday, February 2 against the Binghamton Senators at 7 p.m. on U.S. Army Expand-a-Banner Night at the Times Union Center.

Auditions to be the River Rats Idol were held during the River Rats games January 17, January 20 and January 24. Heather Clark, Pat Tiernan, Sharon MacPherson, Angela VonWergers and Lindsey Websler were chosen as the finalists to audition in front of fans and a panel of judges during Friday's game. The winner of the River Rats Idol Talent Search, presented by 102.3 KISS FM and Cotton Hill Studios, will receive $1,000 and a two-hour recording session at Cotton Hill Studios.

In addition, the first 1,000 fans in attendance at Friday's game will receive a U.S. Army Expand-a-Banner.

Saturday, February 3 is "Guys Night Out" when the River Rats play host to the Worcester Sharks at 5 p.m. at the Times Union Center.

Activities for Guys Night Out begin with an appearance by the Ice Mice at Broadway Joe's (51 South Pearl Street) from 3-4 p.m. In-game activities include a special appearance by the Hooters girls along with prize giveaways from Hooters, Butcher Block, Rumors IV Men and Total Tan. During an intermission, Q103 will host a "Super Bowl" event where three River Rats fans will be chosen to participate in human bowling for the chance to win a Q103 trophy, a jersey from the Super Bowl team of their choice, a $103 gift certificate to the Stadium store in Crossgates Mall and a snowboard from Capital Board and Bike. One lucky fan in attendance will win a Super Bowl feast provided by Mild Wally's consisting of four pizzas and 100 wings scheduled for a 5:45 delivery in the Albany area.

Saturday night's game between the River Rats and Sharks will also feature the Miss Total Tan contest. Fans are invited to join the girls for the finals of the contest after the game at Broadway Joe's. The grand prize winner of the Miss Total Tan contest will receive a three-day, two-night trip to the Northwoods Inn and passes to Whiteface Mountain. The runner-up will receive a $100 Times Union Center gift card and the third-place finisher a variety of area gift certificates. River Rats players, including captain Keith Aucoin, will serve as judges for the Miss Total Tan contest.
