LaCosta Reassigned to Syracuse

Syracuse, NY (January 31, 2007) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned goaltender Dan LaCosta from Dayton (ECHL) to Syracuse. Syracuse announced that they have signed goaltender Andy Franck to a professional try-out agreement.

LaCosta, 20, has appeared in nine games with Syracuse this season, posting a 1-2-1 record, a 3.13 goals against average and a .879 save percentage. In seven games with Dayton this season, LaCosta has posted a 2-4-1 record, a 3.62 goals against average and a .886 save percentage. A native of Labrador City, New Foundland, LaCosta was drafted by Columbus in the third round, 93rd overall, in the 2004 Entry Draft.

Franck, 25, has appeared in 39 games with Wheeling (ECHL) this season, posting a 18-19-2 record, a 3.54 goals against average and a .896 save percentage. A native of Lakewood, Ohio, Franck has appeared in 94 career ECHL games, all with Wheeling, posting a 51-34-7 record.
