Admirals Fly by Aeros 3-2

Milwaukee, WI- The Milwaukee Admirals outshot the Houston Aeros 38-12, including 14-1 in the third period, and scored three unanswered goals to lead them to a 3-2 win Sunday evening at the Bradley Center.
"I thought we played really well in the first period, and I wanted us to continue to play that way regardless of what the result would be and I thought we did a good job of continuing it," said Admirals Head Coach Lane Lambert.
Hugh Jessiman gave the Admirals their third straight goal and the one that gave them the win at 3:20 of the third when he received a perfect centering pass from Patric Hornqvist in front of the net and fluttered it over Houston goaltender Anton Khudobin's blocker.
"It was a really nice pass," explained Jessiman. "I didn't think it was coming to be honest and then I saw it at the last second and just got a little piece of it. Sometimes the goalie thinks you're going to get more on the puck and reacts quickly, and I didn't get as much as I wanted to and I think it was tough for him to read."
After an uneventful first fifteen minutes to the game, the Aeros finally got on the board by a fluke goal from Danny Irmen. While cycling the puck in the Admirals zone during a power-play, Irmen sent a puck in front of the net from behind the right post, and it ended up banking off of Admirals defenseman Scott Ford and right into the net.
The Aeros would go up 2-0 on another power-play tally with just over three minutes left in the first stanza. With Ads' d-man Tim Ramholt in the box for tripping, Mitch Love fired a shot that Milwaukee goalie Mark Dekanich was screened on it the puck landed in the back of the net. Maxim Noreau and Corey Locke picked up assists on the play.
It wasn't until 6:03 of the second period that Milwaukee finally started to see some results derived from their hard work when got on the board to make pull within a goal at 2-1. Forward Kelsey Wilson and Ryan Maki were cycling the puck behind the net in the Houston zone, when the puck was finally dished out to Spaling who fired it past goaltender Anton Khudobin's glove for his 11th goal of the season.
The tie goal came from Milwaukee at 16:38 of the second period, when Patric Hornqvist received a pass from Mike Santorelli and sent a rocket of a slap-shot under the pads of Khudobin. Cody Franson also received his 30th assist of the season on the play.
The Admirals are back in action next Thursday and Friday when they play host to the Iowa Chops for two straight games.
