
Admirals Face Rampage Wednesday

NOTHIN' BUT THE BEST... Milwaukee finished a stretch of six straight games against division leaders Friday night. Milwaukee earned points in five of the six games and was 3-1-1-1 during that stretch. In the last 14 games overall, the Admirals are 9-4-1-1 to gain the second spot in the West Division, 13 points behind the Houston Aeros.
DUELING IN THE DIVISION...Through 25 games against West Division foes, Milwaukee is 14-8-1-2 and own winning records against all four divisional opponents. The overall breakdown: vs. Utah (3-1-0-0), Houston (3-1-0-1), San Antonio (3-2-1-0) and Chicago (5-4-0-1).
STREAK BUSTERS...Over the course of the last two weeks, the Admirals have snapped the unbeaten streaks of three of the top teams in the league this season. Friday night the Admirals not only stopped the Houston Aeros 13 game unbeaten streak they also snapped the Aeros streak of nine straight wins at the Bradley Center. Last Saturday, the Admirals' 6-5 overtime win over the Hamilton Bulldogs ended the league's longest unbeaten streak of the season at 18 games. On January 8th, the Admirals put an end to the Grand Rapids Griffins seven game road winning steak with a 2-1 win at the Bradley Center.
VS. RAMPAGE...Wednesday night, the Admirals play their fifth straight game against a West Division opponent when they face-off against the San Antonio Rampage at the Bradley Center. It is the seventh meeting between the two teams this season with Milwaukee holding a 3-2-1-0 record after a 3-0 win behind the shutout goaltending of Brian Finley on December 19th. At home, Milwaukee is 3-0-1-0 against the expansion Rampage. San Antonio is the top developmental affiliate of the Florida Panthers.
VS. BARONS...Saturday afternoon, the Admirals meet the Cleveland Barons at the Gund Arena in Cleveland. Milwaukee earned two wins in Cleveland and forged a draw in the only Milwaukee meeting. This will be the final trip to Cleveland this season, with the Barons slated for two more Milwaukee visits before the end of the campaign. Over the past two seasons against the Barons, Milwaukee is 4-2-1-0 with a road mark of 2-2-0-0.
ROSTER REVISIONS...The Nashville Predators recalled right wing Martin Erat, center Greg Classen and defenseman Tomas Kloucek while reassigning center Wyatt Smith and defenseman Robert Schnabel to the Admirals last week. The Admirals have also recalled center Erik Anderson from Toledo and signed left wing Denny Lambert to a 25-game contract.
ALL-STAR HONOR FOR HAYDAR...Rookie Darren Haydar was named to the AHL Canadian All-Star Team for the AHL All-Star Classic February 3rd in Portland, Maine. Haydar is the team's leading scorer with 43 points (16g-27a) in 38 games played. He also leads the team in multiple-point games with 12, and +/- with a +21. The former University of New Hampshire star leads all league rookies in scoring and is seventh among all AHL scorers. With his next point, Haydar will surpass last year's leading scorer, Petr Sachl, who scored 43 points for the Admirals over the entire season. Haydar, who has scored at least one point in 26/38 games, was named the AHL's October Rookie of the Month.
IRONMEN...Bryan Lundbohm and Peter Smrek are the only remaining players to have played in all 43 Admirals' games this season. Lundbohm has played in 68 straight games dating back to last season. He played in 79/80 games last season, giving him 122 appearances as an Admiral in less than a season and a half. Smrek played in 8/9 games after being assigned to Milwaukee near the end of last season.
BALANCING ACT...Twenty-five different Admirals have scored the team's 132 goals this season. Jason Beckett and Denny Lambert were added to the list 1/11 in Hamilton.
NO TIME LIKE OVERTIME...The Admirals played in their league-leading 14th overtime session of the year January 12th against Houston and are now 3-4-7 with overtime winners coming from Cameron Mann (10/26 vs. CHI), Peter Smrek (11/30 @ CLE), Jason Beckett (1/11 @ HAM).
