
Surovy added to AHL All-Star roster

SPRINGFIELD, MA ... Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Tomas Surovy has been added to the PlanetUSA All-Star roster for the 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic. Surovy replaces Milan Kraft, who remains on recall to the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins.
Surovy, 21, enters Tuesday's action with 13 goals and 16 assists for 29 points in 26 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton after missing the first six weeks of the season due to injury. A native of Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, Surovy recorded 23 goals and 33 points in 65 games with the AHL Penguins last season.
The 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic will take place at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, Maine, home of the AHL's Portland Pirates. The event gets underway on Sunday, February 2, with the 2003 Pepsi AHL All-Star Skills Competition at 8:00 p.m. ET, and concludes with the annual All-Star Game at 7:00 p.m. ET on Monday, February 3. The 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic will be televised to 60 million households on 15 regional television partners in the United States and on Rogers Sportsnet nationally in Canada.
