Calgary, AB - Calgary Flames Vice-President & General Manager Craig Button announced today defenceman Jordan Leopold has been assigned to the Saint John Flames of the American Hockey League.
Leopold has played in 30 games with the Flames this season recording seven points (2 goal, 5 assists) and eight penalty minutes. The 22 year-old rearguard is in his first season with the Flames following a four-year college career with the University of Minnesota. The native of Golden Valley, MN was selected in the second round, 44th overall, in the 1999 Entry Draft. The Flames acquired Leopold from Anaheim on September 26, 2000 for Andrei Nazarov and a second round choice in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
