Reno Aces News Release
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Another big inning, this time a six-run fourth frame, boosted the Las Vegas 51's to an 11-4 win over the Reno Aces on Wednesday night at Cashman Field.
Reno starter Nate Adcock seemed on his way to recording his best outing for the Aces this season, when he hit a rough patch in the fourth. After allowing just one run on one hit through the first three innings, Adcock gave up six runs on eight hits in the fourth.
The righty was charged with seven runs - six earned - on nine hits through 3.2 innings, while walking three and striking out five, en route to his fifth loss of the season. Reliever Brett Lorin forced an out to end the frame, before throwing another inning of perfect relief.
Relievers Shawn Camp and Kevin Munson each allowed a pair of runs through the final 3.0 innings, giving up a combined four hits and striking out four.
The Aces posted a pair of runs in the second and the sixth, including a two RBI singles off the bat of catcher Tuffy Gosewisch. He finished 3-for-4 with two RBI on the night.
Juan Rivera recorded his second-straight multi-hit game, going 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored.
The series wraps up Thursday night at Cashman Field, as the Aces look to avoid being swept. RHP Mike Bolsinger (4-3, 3.65 ERA) will take the mound for Reno, while the 51's will counter with RHP Rafael Montero (1-2, 4.50 ERA). First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. PT, and all of the action can be heard live on KPLY 630 AM.
Reno returns home Friday for a four-game series against the Tacoma Rainiers. Tickets are available for the upcoming series, and all Aces home games, at RenoAces.com, by calling (775) 334-7000 or by visiting the Aces Ballpark Ticket Office.
