
Aces avoid sweep, shut down Condors

ANCHORAGE, Alaska. - G Chris Holt made 32 saves to lead the Alaska Aces to a 6-0 victory over the Bakersfield Condors in front of 5,761 fans at Sullivan Arena in Anchorage Saturday night. The loss snapped the Condors seven-game road unbeaten streak (5-0-2) and they wrap up their series in Alaska going 2-1-0.
Alaska (14-7-1, 29pts) took the lead, as they have in all three games of the series, scoring a pair of goals less than three minutes apart. LW Lance Galbraith, at 13:01, and LW Scott Burt, at 15:59, made it 2-0 Condors at the end of 20 minutes of play. Condors G Dave McKee made 12 first period saves, while Aces G Chris Holt was perfect on 11 shots.
Bakersfield (8-10-3, 19pts) fell behind further in the second, as Alaska lit the lamp three more times. D Nick Tuzzolino, Galbraith, and RW Colin Hemingway each tallied to extend their lead to 5-0. The Condors led in shots 11-7 in the frame.
Yutaka Fukufuji replaced McKee to start the third period for the Condors, but the Aces added one more to account for the final margin. Hold made 10 more saves in the third as Bakersfield outshot Alaska 32-29 in the contest.
