Academy Update: March / April 2022 Players of the Month
Published on May 6, 2022 under Major League Soccer (MLS)
Inter Miami CF News Release
The Inter Miami CF Academy presented by Baptist Health continues to showcase the skills of its young players as the season marches on. Our players have bonded together, and with strong team chemistry, proven themselves on the pitch with strong performances at a number of tournaments, including the 2022 Generation adidas Cup and the 2022 Easter International Cup. Over the last two months, two athletes stood out amongst the rest, making them our March / April Players of the Month.
For our younger age groups, U-13 player Matteo De Paula was chosen as the Player of the Month after claiming the Easter International Cup title.
"Out of a very high performing group of players on the IMCF 2009 team, one stood out. As a right back, Matteo De Paula has been able to make an impact on and off the field. He has been a leader on the team, he has made an impact defensively, as an individual, and as part of the core, and has even made an impact offensively, scoring goals from set-pieces. He embodies all of our Inter Miami CF core values," said Academy coach Gibran Tevar.
For our older age groups, U-17 player Joseph Convers was chosen as the Player of the Month after featuring at GA Cup.
"Joseph had a fantastic tournament at GA Cup, playing every game in the competition and putting in a good performance in each. He has also excelled off the field with his school work, continuing to show that he is humble and a hard worker." said Academy Coach Javier Morales.
