\'Stormers Finalize Roster for Season Opener

DES MOINES - The locally-owned Iowa Barnstormers Arena Football Club today announced the team has made final roster cuts in preparation for the 2009 af2 season opener Friday, March 27 at Milwaukee.
The twenty-two member 2009 Barnstormers' roster features fourteen returning players, including QB Joe Brannen, WRs Tim Dodge and Errick McCown, and All-af2 OL Michael Dansby. One notable new Barnstormer is former Iowa State Cyclone and All-Big 12 performer DB DeAndre Jackson.
"The Barnstormers will be an Arena Cup contender from the first snap," said Head Coach John Gregory. "This year's team has a great mix of returning starters and newcomers with significant arena football experience. Barnstormers fans will see a very talented group take the field this season."
The Barnstormers begin the 2009 campaign against the Milwaukee Iron, an af2 expansion club that is also a member of the af2's Midwest Division. The game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. kick-off this Friday at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee. The live radio broadcast can be heard locally on AM 1700 The Champ.
The Iowa Barnstormers home opener is Saturday, April 4 against the Tulsa Talons. Season tickets are still available and start as low as $80 and can be ordered at www.theiowabarnstormers.com or (515) 633-BALL.
