Greensboro, N.C. - The Greensboro Grasshoppers broke their Franchise Record for April per-game average attendance tonight as they drew 6040 against the Delmarva Shorebirds. This gives the âHoppers 65,935 fans in 10 April openings, for an average of 6594 per game. The previous April record was set in 2007, when the team averaged 6384 fans per contest.
"It's a long season, but it is extremely encouraging for us to have drawn so well this month," said Grasshoppers' President and General Manager Donald Moore. "With all the uncertainty in the economy, we are thrilled with our start to the year. I hope things continue in this same direction throughout the season," Moore continued.

The team is the proud recipient of both the South Atlantic League's Club Merit Award and the General Manager of the Year Award for the past four years. They were also the recipients of Baseball America's prestigious Bob Freitas Award for overall excellence in the 2008 season.
