Newark, DE-March 22, 2014- The Delaware 87ers (12-34) took on the Canton Charge (26-19) in the final match-up between the teams. Delaware was unable to hold off the Charge, falling 114-100.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo led the 87ers in scoring putting up 24 points and grabbing ten rebounds. BJ Young dropped a season high 23 points while Josh Akognon added 19 points and three rebounds.
After several lead changes in the first half, the Charge pulled away late in the second quarter, leading 59-36 at the half. The Sevens were unable to regain the lead.
Canton's Kyrylo Fesenko (29 points, 12 rebounds), Olek Czyz (28 points, 19 rebounds) and Will Cherry (ten points, 11 assists) each had double-doubles.
The 87ers are back in action on Friday, March 28, when they host the Erie BayHawks. The game tips off at the Bob Carpenter Center at 7:00p.m. E.T.
