8 Former Grizzlies on NHL Playoff Rosters

West Valley City, Utah - 8 former Utah Grizzlies are on NHL playoff rosters as the run for the Stanley Cup starts tonight with three games.

The Grizzlies will open their own playoff run Friday and Saturday at Maverik Center when they will host Bakersfield. Playoff tickets are on sale now at www.utahgrizzlies.com, Maverik Center box office or any Ticketmaster location. Group discounts for parties of 10 or more and catered luxury suites are available for purchase by calling (801) 988-8800.

In addition to the eight, Justin Johnson (2007-2008) made his NHL debut with the Islanders over the weekend, playing two games and engaging in his first NHL fight in his second game as New York won three-straight games to finish the season.

Utah native Trevor Lewis, who played for the Grizzlies during last year's NHL lockout will go for his second Stanley Cup Championship in three years when the Kings open up their first round series against San Jose Friday.

Dallas (8) has two former Grizzlies in Ray Whitney and Trevor Daley as they will play the Grizzlies NHL affiliate the Anaheim Ducks (1) in a 1 versus 8 matchup.

Andrew MacDonald was traded just prior to the NHL's deadline to Philadelphia joining former Grizzlies defenseman Mark Streit.

Steve Ott was traded from Buffalo to a contender when he joined St. Louis in a trade that also brought goaltender Ryan Miller to the Blues from Buffalo in February as well.

-Mark Streit: Philadelphia Flyers: With Utah during the 1999-2000 season.

-Ray Whitney: Dallas Stars: With Utah during the 1996-1997 season.
