8.15.16 SWB Legends Series Adds Mariano Duncan and Graig Nettles

Moosic, Pa. - The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) are thrilled to announce the final two names for the 2016 "Legends Series at PNC Field. Mariano Duncan is set to appear on Friday, August 19 when the RailRiders host the Pawtucket Red Sox (Boston Red Sox) at 7:05 p.m. Former Yankees captain Graig Nettles will visit PNC Field on Friday, September 2 when SWB faces the Buffalo Bisons (Toronto Blue Jays) at 7:05 p.m.

"Two great names to cap off our extremely popular Legends Series," said RailRiders COO Josh Olerud. "Fans have enjoyed the opportunities to meet former Yankee stars from the 60's through the 2000's with all the benefits of the fundraising for Embraced with Love, Bucky Dent's charity."

Duncan wore Yankees pinstripes from 1996-1997 and was a member of the New York's 1996 World Series Champion team. He famously coined the phrase, "we play today, we win today...das it!" which became the mantra of the '96 squad. Duncan's first World Series title came with the Cincinnati Reds in 1990. He played for the Philadelphia Phillies from 1992-1995. He was a part of the Phillies' 1993 National League Champion team and was a selected a 1994 NL All-Star.

Nettles was Yankees captain from 1982-1984. He helped New York to consecutive World Series championships in 1977 and 1978. Nettles won Gold Gloves both seasons and set career-highs with 37 home runs and 107 RBI in '77. After being selected by the Twins in the fourth round of the 1965 MLB Draft, Nettles was traded to the Cleveland Indians and late the Yankees. Nettles donned the pinstripes from 1973-1983. Over his 22 seasons, Nettles hit .248 with 390 homers and 1,314 RBI.
