LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville Bats outfielder Beau Amaral was named the International League Batter of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Amaral joins Scott Schebler (Batter of the Week, June 13-19 & Player of the Month, July), Daniel Wright (Pitcher of the Week, May 16-22) and Jermaine Curtis (Player of the Month, April), as award winners this season. Amaral and Schebler become the first Bats duo to win IL Batter of the Week in the same season since Paul Janish and Cody Puckett in 2012.

Beau Amaral hit .387 for the week, tying for the league lead with 12 hits. He was also third in the circuit in with four extra-base hits, including his first career Triple-A home run on August 11. He was on base 13 times in the week and came around to score eight times, including four runs scored on August 12. The four runs were the most for Amaral since September 1, 2014 and the most for a Bats player since Michael Griffin scored four on September 3, 2010.
