67's Top IceDogs 4-2
December 5, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Niagara IceDogs News Release
The Niagara IceDogs lost 4-2 to the Ottawa 67's Friday night in Ottawa.
Brendan Perlini got the scoring started with his second goal in as many games as he walked into the slot and beat 67's goalie Leo Lazarev with a quick shot at 8:30 of the first period. Carter Verhaeghe got an assist on the goal, upping his point streak to five games. The 67's answered with three goals of their own thanks to Jake Middleton, Dante Salituro and Travis Konecny.
The 67's struck again at 3:11 of the second period, when Dylan McDonald beat IceDogs goaltender Brent Moran. That would be the end of his night as Brandon Hope came in to replace him.
Verhaeghe made it a 4-2 game at 6:31 of the third period, as he made a strong power move to the front of the net and put it past Lazarev.
That's as close as the IceDogs would get as Lazarev shut the door after that. The IceDogs travel to Kingston to take on the Frontenacs tomorrow night.
