North Bay Battalion News Release

NORTH BAY, Ont. - The North Bay Battalion is auctioning a game-worn sweater from the 2013-14 Ontario Hockey League season, with all proceeds going to the Juno Beach Centre.

The white sweater, which was worn by centre Jamie Lewis in the Battalion ' s first season in North Bay, has a Memorial Cup patch on the chest. The auction runs on eBay from Friday until Dec. 12.

OHL clubs wore Juno Beach Centre patches on home sweaters throughout November. The centre in Normandy is owned and operated by the Juno Beach Centre Association, a Canadian non-profit organization recognizing Canada ' s contribution to the D-Day landing in German-occupied France during the Second World War.

Lewis ' s rights were acquired by the Brampton Battalion in a trade with the Niagara IceDogs on Oct. 7, 2011. He skated in 195 games over three seasons with the Troops, scoring 25 goals and earning 47 assists for 72 points.

He played 34 playoff games, registering eight points, including four goals. His rocket shot at 14:27 of the third period last April 23 lifted the Battalion to a 3-2 victory and a four-game sweep over the visiting Oshawa Generals in the Eastern Conference Championship Series.

Among his eight goals last season was the winner in a 4-1 decision over the host Belleville Bulls on Sept. 21. It was the first game-winning goal in North Bay Battalion history.

Lewis, in his fourth and final OHL season, was traded to the Windsor Spitfires on Sept. 29.
