In Barrie, the 67's allowed five goals to the Colts in the second period and dropped a 9-3 decision in Ontario Hockey League action.
Justin Scott had a hat trick for the Cotls who outshot Ottawa 40-33. Former 67 Joseph Blandisi also had a big game for Barrie, with a goal and four assists.
Travis Konecny collected his first goal of the season, while rookie Travis Barron counted his first OHL goal and Brendan Bell also scored for Ottawa.
Leo Lazarev played all 60 minutes in the 67's net.
Ottawa completes its weekend road trip today in Owen Sound before returning to TD Place arena (formerly the Civic Centre) and Lansdowne for the team's home opener Friday, October 10 against the Niagara IceDogs.
