67's Beat Belleville in Brockville to Cap Perfect Pre-Season

BROCKVILLE -- The 67's survived a second-period surge by the Belleville Bulls, pulling away with three unanswered goals to record a 7-4 win at the Brockville Memorial Civic Centre in Ontario Hockey League pre-season action, Sunday afternoon.

Rookie Travis Barron scored with two minutes remaining in the second period, stealing momentum from the Bulls, who had charged back from a 4-1 deficit with three straight power play goals.

Sam Studnicka and Mike Vlajkov scored early in the third for Ottawa to help the 67's pull away.

Rookie import Artur Tyanulin continued his strong showing in the pre-season, scoring on a penalty shot and adding a pair of assists.

Travis Konecny, playing his second pre-season game for Ottawa, scored twice and added an assist.

Veteran Brendan Bell played his first game of the pre-season for Ottawa and had two assists.

Dante Salituro also scored for the 67's.

Ottawa goalie Olivier Lafrenière faced 39 shots by the Bulls. The 67's delivered 44 shots at Belleville goalie Connor Hicks.

Former 67's forward Brett Gustavsen scored once for the Bulls, while Niki Petti, Chad Heffernan and David Tomasek also found the mark for Bellevillle.

The win caps a 3-0 pre-season record for the 67's, who open the regular season on Friday, September 26 in Kingston against the Frontenacs.

Ottawa plays its first four games on the road before returning to Lansdowne at TD Place on Friday, October 10 to host the Niagara IceDogs.
