66ers Lose 5-1 at Lake Elsinore

Lake Elsinore, CA- The Inland Empire 66ers of San Bernardino allowed five unearned run on Saturday at Lake Elsinore and fell to the Storm 5-1. The loss moved the Sixers into a three-way tie for first place in the Cal League's South Division at 27-29. Lake Elsinore score four unearned runs in the first and another one in the sixth to take the first two games of the three-game set and fell to 5-7 against the Storm in 2018.

Jeremy Beasley (1-1) started for the Sixers and gave up four runs in the first after a missed infield pop up had extended the inning. The Storm got a RBI double from Luis Torrens who later scored on a wild pitch. Brad Zunica then drilled a two-run homer, his sixth of the year and second in as many days, to make it 4-0. The 66ers finally scratched a run against Storm starter Adrian Morejon (3-3) in the sixth innings when with two outs Jack Kruger singled and then stole second. Roberto Baldoquin then lashed a RBI single to center for the Sixers lone run. Baldoquin, Jordan Zimmerman and Jahmai Jones all had two-hit games and accounted for six of Inland Empires seven hits (all singles). Morejon went six innings and walked one with seven Ks. Zunica added a single on the night while Buddy Reed went 3-for-4 with a double for Lake Elsinore.
