5 Things to Know about #ATLvFCD
Leading the Homegrown Charge
FC Dallas is truly dominating the #PlayYourKids movement. Dallas leads MLS with 2,354 Academy minutes played and has started five Homegrown players in four straight matches (Reggie Cannon, Edwin Cerrillo, Jesus Ferreira, Paxton Pomykal and Jesse Gonzalez). In comparison, Atlanta United has a total of 64 Academy product minutes played this season, all from forward Andrew Carleton.
Getting More Than One is ...
When scoring at least two goals, FC Dallas is 73-3-9. Dallas has scored at least two goals in each of its four wins in 2019, including a season-high four goals in a 4-2 victory over Real Salt Lake at Rio Tinto Stadium on March 30.
Not Giving Up
FC Dallas has given up eight goals through seven MLS matches in 2019. Dallas is tied with the New York Red Bulls for ninth-fewest overall. The Columbus Crew and Seattle Sounders have both conceded only five goals, the fewest in MLS play this season.
Against Atlanta United
This is just the third meeting between Dallas and Atlanta. In the previous two meetings, each club won at home. FC Dallas earned a come-from-behind 3-2 victory on July 4, 2018 at Toyota Stadium. Atlanta United won the first meeting between the teams, a 3-0 win on September 10, 2017, in the grand opening of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
About Atlanta United
Atlanta United won its first league match in defense of its MLS Cup title when it beat the New England Revolution 2-0 at Gillette Stadium last Saturday evening.
