Game Preview: New England Revolution vs. New York Red Bulls
April 19, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (1-5-1, 4 pts.) will play the second installment of a three-game homestand this weekend against the New York Red Bulls (1-3-2, 5 pts.) on Saturday, April 20 at Gillette Stadium. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be televised locally on NBC Sports Boston, with Brad Feldman, Paul Mariner, and Charlie Davies calling the action. The contest airs locally on the radio with 98.5 The Sports Hub broadcasting the action in English and 1260 AM Nossa Radio providing Portuguese commentary, and nationally on SiriusXM FC (Channel 157).
The Revs are seeking a second consecutive home win against the Red Bulls, after playing to a 2-1 win at Gillette Stadium last season on June 2, 2018. Diego Fagundez, who scored in last season's home win, leads all current Revolution players with five career goals against New York. The clubs' last five meetings in Foxborough were all decided by only one goal.
As part of MLS WORKS Greener Goals Week of Service, for the third consecutive year, all 24 MLS clubs will be wearing special adidas x Parley eco-friendly kits during Earth Day weekend. The Revolution will wear the Parley kits during Saturday's test against the Red Bulls. As one of only a few MLS clubs located in a coastal community, the Revolution participated in multiple events this week to promote ocean conservation, including cleaning debris at Squaw Rock in Quincy, Mass. After Saturday's match, the club's Parley jerseys will be auctioned at www.revolutionsoccer.net to benefit the New England Aquarium.
In addition, the New England Revolution Charitable Foundation will host its first Audi Charitable Drive Series of the season on Saturday. Collection bins will be available at all gates to collect new and gently-used soccer equipment for Boston Centers for Youth & Families.
Following Saturday's match, the Revolution will conclude their three-game home stretch with the season's first matchup with the Montreal Impact on Wednesday, April 24. That mid-week match will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Boston, 98.5 The Sports Hub, and 1260 AM Nossa Radio.
