Eastlake, Ohio-The Lake County Captains scored five runs in the first inning on the way to a 7-3 victory over the Dayton Dragons on Thursday night. The Captains took three of four games in the series.

For the second straight night, Lake County led 6-0 in the early innings, adding a single run in the second after their big first inning. The Dragons battled back in the fourth, scoring three times to cut the deficit to three. Yorman Rodriguez lined a home run to left field to start the scoring. It was Rodriguez's second homer of the year. Dominic D'Anna singled to right and with two outs, Jaren Matthews walked. Devin Lohman then lined a triple to the gap in right center field to bring in both runners and make it 6-3.

But Lake County responded with one run in the bottom of the fourth and shut down the Dragons on two hits over the final five innings for the victory.

Dragons starting pitcher Tanner Robles (0-1) recorded just one out, allowing five runs to suffer the loss. He walked the first three batters in the first inning, got an out, and eventually surrendered a three-run home run to Jason Smit.

The Dragons finished with eight hits, one more than they had collected over the first three games of the series combined. Tucker Barnhart went 2 for 4 to raise his batting average to .368. Jefry Sierra also had two hits for Dayton. Rodriguez and Lohman had the only two extra base hits.

Dayton travels to Lansing, Michigan to battle the Lansing Lugnuts in a three-game series starting Friday at 7:05 p.m. Daniel Tuttle (0-0, 4.50) will start for Dayton and Lansing's Misaul Diaz (0-0, 6.75). The Dragons next home game is Monday, April 18 vs. Bowling Green at Fifth Third Field.

Notes: Dayton's Dominic D'Anna left the game in the eighth inning after being struck in the head by a pitch. D'Anna walked off under his own power...The Dragons played errorless baseball for the second game in the series.
