5 Homers Carry Wichita Past Arkansas

Wichita, KS - The Wichita Wind Suege again flexed their muscles and handed the Arkansas Travelers a 9-2 loss on Friday night. It was the fifth consecutive loss for the Travs. Wichita hit five home runs in the game matching the most allowed in a game this season by the Arkansas pitching staff. Wind Surge starter Kody Funderburk worked six innings of one-run ball with eight strikeouts to get the win.

Moments That Mattered

* Chris Williams opened the scoring with a solo shot leading off the second. He led off the sixth inning with another blast putting the Wind Surge up by two.

* Christian Encarnacion-Strand homered in consecutive innings giving Wichita the lead in the fifth and then putting them up by six the next inning.

* 1B Jake Scheiner: 1-3, BB, 2B, RBI

* C Matt Scheffler: 3-4
