Club de Foot Montreal News Release
MONTREAL - 21 Montreal Impact players will take part in the second annual Canada Soccer U15 showcase from May 3-6 at the Montreal Impact training centre.
"It's an amazing opportunity for the players to face other players from high-level clubs or selected by the Canadian Soccer Association to take part in the event," said Impact U14 head coach Mathieu Rufié. "It's a good week to evaluate the work that has been done throughout the year and prepare the players that will integrate the USSDA with the U16 team next year."
The Montreal Impact, Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Toronto FC will have a team in the tournament, in addition to a selection of players forming a CSA team. All teams will play each other once, for a total of six games.
"First, we will be able to demonstrate how the club and the academy want to grow and pursue development, given that the competition will be held at the club's facilities," added Rufié. "We're also proud to host the other two professional structures and the Canadian Soccer Association for an event of this quality, where Canada's best U15 players will show their potential to the national technical staff."
